Well this week I been out and about to different location looking for new " ticks " for my years list. Looking for those that I normally do not see on Mull as I am still away from home on my " bus mans " holiday.
I have had some success and plenty of what might appear as wasted time but at least out in the fresh air ( and rain and wind).
While I am still in the world of technology if anyone is interested just look on the face book link for daily updates , which will continue till I get back to Mull at the end of this month.
Spent most of Friday looking for Grouse in Wales then Saturday morning walking all over hilltops looking for Chough. Not even a discarded feather so was not confident of seeing Snow Bunting on some beach I had not been too before ( picture on face book ) but thanks to a friendly birder who pointed me in the right direction managed an enjoyable hour our so watching him along with plenty of wades.
Back down at local reserve today managed to see a pair of SEO and Little Grede so two more tick but main talk was of a Little Auk showing well over at Conners Quay, we do get them on Mull but normally only after strong gales and often in Tobermory high street, perhaps once again the LEO has asked it to turn up to take the pressure of him as the Green Winged Teal has headed back across the water and his sleeping is getting interrupted again with all the well wishers.
2 of my 4 day breaks are now full and I am really looking forward to meeting you all and will keep you updated with what the Eagles Otters and Divers are doing when I get back to Mull in Feb.
